Port ethernet 10/100 Mb jest wodoodporny, co skutecznie zabezpiecza urządzenie przed szkodliwym działaniem czynników zewnętrznych. Urządzenie posiada konektor N-męski umożliwiający bezpośrednie podpięcie do anteny. Sygnalizacyjne diody LED pokazując siłę sygnału czynią montaż łatwiejszym. . Groove 5HN wyposażony został w moduł radiowy o mocy 200 mW w standardzie 80211a/n. Posiada zainstalowany system Mikrotik RouterOS, co czyni go w pełni kompatybilnym z pozostałymi urządzeniami Mikrotik. Licencja level 4 powiększa skale zastosowań urządzenia. Mikrotik Groove A-5Hn jest urządzeniem do zastosowań zewnętrznych. Urządzenie pracuje w oparciu o nowy protokół Nv2, wykorzystujący technologie TDMA, który pozwala na lepsze wykorzystanie pasma. Oprócz trybu "klient", możliwości zestawienia połączenia punkt-punkt, otrzymujemy możliwość zastosowania Groove 5Hn jako punkt dostępowy.
